Prospect Profile: Dalton Rushing
Highlighting the versatile catcher turned utility-man atop the Dodgers' farm system

Background
Dalton Rushing grew up in rural Tennessee, playing the travel circuit and starring at Brighton High School. During his senior season, he hit .491 with 11 homers and 46 RBI en route to being named First Team All-State. According to Perfect Game, Rushing was among the top recruits in Tennessee and ranked in the Top 250 nationally. Following graduation, Rushing received a scholarship to play collegiately at Louisville. In his first two seasons with the Cardinals, Rushing played just 25 games as Henry Davis covered the catcher position. Once Davis, the top overall pick in 2021, departed, Rushing played 64 games in his junior season. In 64 games, Rushing slashed .298/.442/.686, mashing 23 home runs with 16 doubles. Following his junior season, the Dodgers selected Rushing with the 40th overall pick in the 2022 draft.
