It's incredible that July and the All-Star Break are right around the corner. Most teams have played 70+ games entering play this week, and things are starting to take shape. When you look top-to-bottom around baseball, many teams stand out in one way or another. The Orioles have been highly disappointing and are currently 10 games under .500. The Braves are also underwhelming, and even with the return of Ronald Acuna and Spencer Strider, they still can't get going. On the other hand, the Rays are holding their own in the AL East and WC races, as are the Blue Jays, who sit just 4.5 games behind the Yankees in the East. The NL West has five teams over .500 and three within 6.5 games of the division-leading Dodgers, who have not dominated as everyone anticipated. Here are the rest of this month's Dynasty Notes.

The trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and the biggest move of the summer may have already occurred. On Sunday, the Red Sox shook the baseball world when they traded disgruntled slugger Rafael Devers and his $250M contract to the Giants. The relationship between Devers and the team had soured over the past six months, and it finally came to a head. Here is the fantasy fallout:

Rafael Devers to SFG

Devers' move to San Francisco is the culmination of the organization's effort to land an impact bat. They missed out on Judge and Ohtani, maybe even Soto, but they finally got their man. At 28, Devers is one of the most accomplished hitters in the league. In nine seasons, he's already got 215 homers with a .279 career average and an .859 OPS. He adds a much-needed lefty power bat to a Giants' offense that hasn't had one of his caliber since Barry Bonds. Devers has prodigious power that consistently rates in the upper 10 percent of the league, and his plate approach is outstanding. The big question with Devers is where he will play. Third baseman Matt Chapman is currently on the IL for an extended period. The Giants also have no viable MLB first basemen until Bryce Eldridge is promoted later this season. We know that Devers will hit and hit often; the fit is as good as it can get in San Francisco.
